Corpus Christi School Celebrates
Catholic School Week 2004

Come join the Corpus Christi School family in Hasbrouck Heights, January 25th to January 30th and help us celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

The theme for this year’s Catholic School Week is "A Faith-Filled Future". Each day, along with 8,000 other Catholic schools nationwide, Corpus Christi School will celebrate how our school makes a difference in our parish, our community, our students, our nation, our volunteers and our teachers.

Sunday, January 25th, "In Our Parish". The Opening mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrates and acknowledges the teachers and administrative staff of Corpus Christi School who devote their lives and time to the students and their families. Open House and Registration for the 2004/2005 school year will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Monday, January 26th, "In Our Community". A fun morning of intramural sports will be will be organized for the older grades and the younger grades, PreK3 – Grade 2 will participate in the always popular "Grandparents Social".

Tuesday, January 27th, "In Our Students". The day starts out with a Church Buddy Breakfast and a Reading Buddy day for the 8th grade and the students in the Early Childhood Learning Center. It is also Blue and Gold Day and the students show their school spirit by wearing the school colors. A little friendly competition with the National Geographic Geography Bee and the day concludes with one of the favorite activities of the week, "No Homework Day".

Wednesday, January 28th, "In Our Nation". Open House and Registration will take place throughout this day. The hours will be from 9-11 a.m., 1-2:30 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Some new activities this year for the students will be The Science Fair, which will take place all day in the Upper Cafeteria, a Rock Climbing Wall for grades 4th –8th, a challenge everyone will enjoy and a King Neptune Playspace available for PreK3-Grade 3 in the Great Hall.

Thursday, January 29th, "Through Our Volunteers". Displayed in school will be an Honor Roll of Volunteers and all classes will be involved with Letters of Thanks to Volunteers. An International Day is scheduled for the students with classroom activities and the Science Fair will continue to be displayed.

Friday, January 30th, "With Our Teachers". The last day of this busy week concludes with an Award Ceremony for the students from 10:15-11:30 with all visitors welcomed. Special events honoring National Catholic Teacher Appreciation Day, including a luncheon will take place and Family Fun Night at a local roller rink is also planned.

Within the classrooms, special activities will also take place. The First Grade will be watching and learning about the wonder of hatching chicks, the 8th grade will be showing their special PowerPoint presentations on all the new computers in the classrooms, a T-shirt design contest will be on-going in the art classes, a mini concert presented by the school choir for their fellow students and a quotable quote contest for all grades, "What Catholic School Means to Me" will make this week memorable.

This special week also provides the opportunity for parents of potential new students to receive personal tours of this exceptional school. Corpus Christi offers part-time programs for Pre-K3, full and part-time for preK4 and a first-rate academic program for grades K-8. Before and after care is available. Space for the 2004/2005 school year is limited.
