COMPUTER SERVICES

There is a 30 minute limit -- if no one is waiting the user may continue
Printing is $0.15 per page, payable at the nearest service desk
All computers have Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
You can use your own disks or purchase one for $1.00
As a courtesy to your fellow library users, the sound must be turned off.


SERVICE INFORMATION
All materials may be returned in the Book Box at any time of the day or night.  It is located at the Central Avenue Parking Lot Entrance.

Patrons must present their own bvaid library card in order to check out library materials.

10 minutes prior to closing: all public computers and the copier are shut down.  Five minutes prior to closing: All circulation computers are shut down and on more materials may be checked out.

Beverages are allowed in the Library with the exception of the computer centers.   Snack food is allowed in the Atrium and the magazine lounge areas only.  The reference wind is reserved as a bastion of piece and a haven of quiet. Let's keep it so.   Use of cell phones is allowed in the vestibule.


BORROWING PERIODS
Most materials circulate for 28 days and may be renewed twice either inperson or computer [www.bccls.org] or by phone -- unless reserved or another.

The exceptions include: (When in doubt -- check the date card in the item's pocket)
New fiction -- two weeks
Videos & DVD's-- One week - Borrower must be 18+, no renewals
CD's & CD-ROM - Two weeks
Audio books & Adult room magazines -- Two weeks


FINES
Books, books on tape, CD-ROMs, Read Alongs -- 10 cents a day
Videos & DVD's -- $1.00 per day
Videos not rewound -- fifty cents
Maximum fines for books is $5.00

Whitman Visits Free Public Library
Five years ago at the Free Public Library of Hasbrouck Heights, Governor Whitman signed into legislation the Library Construction bill sponsored by Assemblywoman Rose Marie Heck.   This provided for $700,000 of support for this Borough’s Library construction project, and benefited dozens of libraries across the state in providing matching funds for construction, renovation and expansion.[Photo & story]


HH Library Trustees hold 2nd Annual Wine & Delights"
The Hasbrouck Heights Library Board of Trustees held their "Second Annual Wine and Delights" on Sunday, April 3 at The Ivy Inn. The sold-out event offered great food, good wine, pleasant conversation and songs by request by "Jerry" at the piano About 70 attended. The event raised over $3,100, and all proceeds went towards the introduction of wireless laptops in the library. [Story]

Victorian Tea
Saturday, May 18, 2003  from noon to 2 p.m. at Neiman Marcus' Rotunda Room at the Garden State Plaza. Menu included scones with Devonshire cream and lemon curd, miniature chicken salad profitteroles, finger sandwiches, hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries and assorted pastries --- accompanied by a custom blend of John Harney teas.  A brief talk about "The Traditional Victorian Tea; Etiquette, Food and Customs of a Bygone Era" was presented by Ms. Kim Hendrickson.
